There are no services between Wythenshawe Park and Moor Road <\/p>\n

Part of the Metrolink<\/a> Airport line has been closed after collision between a tram and a moped.<\/p>\n

There are no services between Wythenshawe Park and Moor Road following the smash around 9pm at the junction of Wythenshawe<\/a> Road and Moor Road.<\/p>\n

Pictures from the scene show the motorcycle wedged under the tram carriage. It’s not known at this stage if anyone was injured.<\/p>\n

A witness said: “The tram was already moving and moped tried to race around. The tram driver did well to stop so fast.”<\/p>\n

An update on traffic and travel monitoring service Inrix reads: “No service on Manchester Metrolink between Wythenshawe<\/a> Park and Moor Road due to a collision between a tram and a moped. Affecting the Airport Line.”<\/p>\n

A statement on the Metrolink website says: “Due to a road traffic collision, there are no services between Barlow Moor Road and Martinscroft. Tickets and passes are being accepted on the 23, 25, 41, 43, 85a, 101, 103, 248, 249, 368 bus services.<\/p>\n

“Metrolink<\/a> would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have been contacted for comment.<\/p>\n
