After Angelina Jolie divorced Brad Pitt, Salma Hayek knew to pick a side\u2014 and it\u2019s become one of the strongest A-list friendships<\/a> in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

The women bonded while filming the Eternals, but instead of parting ways after the movie came out, they only grew closer. Hayek is now being credited with getting Jolie to come out of her shell after years of drama with Brad Pitt.<\/a><\/p>\n

Their kids hang out. They trust each other completely. They\u2019re not Hollywood friends. They\u2019re real friends \u2014 chosen family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hayek isn\u2019t shy about her friendship with Jolie either. At the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, the 58-year-old actress gushed about her 50-year-old bestie<\/a>. \u201cShe\u2019s been very, very enriching in my life, in so many ways \u2014 as mothers, you know. Most of all, as artists,\u201d she told People.<\/a><\/p>\n

After working together on the 2022 film, Without Blood, Hayek gave kudos to Jolie for being \u201cthe best director I\u2019ve ever worked with\u201d \u2014 that\u2019s some high praise. \u201cI\u2019ve always loved her as a director, but I think this might be her best, or one of the best,\u201d she told the media outlet.<\/p>\n

Jolie had equally kind things to say about Hayek, telling Mexican talk show Ventaneando<\/a> in 2021, \u201cI love Salma. She\u2019s one of the greatest gifts that came with this movie. We\u2019ve both been in the business a long time and hadn\u2019t met\u2014probably because I\u2019m not very social. But now, we\u2019re very close. She\u2019s my sister. She\u2019s brilliant, kind, and wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n
