Prince Harry<\/a> may have quit royal life five years ago, but the quiet life he seemed to have envisioned for himself outside the Firm<\/a> has not been very quiet at all. Since walking away from the monarchy, Harry, 40, and his wife Meghan Markle<\/a>, 43, have been vocal in their criticisms about royal life, both in their 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview<\/a> and their 2022 Netflix<\/a> docuseries Harry and Meghan.<\/p>\n

Harry then slammed royal life again in his bombshell memoir Spare<\/a>, released in 2023. While the prince has since insisted that he wants reconciliation with his royal relatives, a former royal butler who knew Harry as a boy believes that the prince has made four mistakes that speak volumes. Paul Burrell<\/a>, who worked with Harry and William\u2019s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales<\/a> for 10 years before her 1997 death, exclusively told Express.co.uk<\/a> that Harry has \u201cbroken\u201d all the rules.<\/p>\n

Burrell then cited his four mistakes as criticising the late Queen<\/a>, King Charles<\/a>, Prince William<\/a> and Princess Kate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of Casino.org<\/a>, the former royal butler said: \u201cHarry broke all the rules, the rules which he knew well. He’s broken them and gone beyond and said things which should never have been said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the tight rope of truth, which sometimes, if you fall off it, you get battered and bruised. I think Harry has got battered and bruised because he said things which any royal should never say and criticised his late grandmother, as she was dying, criticised his father as he was struggling with his own cancer battle, criticised Kate, who is struggling with her cancer battle, and his brother, who has the weight of monarchy on his shoulders.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s hardly helpful from someone who should know better. It’s a tinder box waiting to go off.
