Three vehicles were involved in a crash<\/p>\n

Officers closed part of the M61<\/a> after three vehicles crashed overnight near Bolton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Police say one person suffered minor injuries following a collision on the northbound carriageway between Rivington Services and junction eight, at Chorley.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called out to the scene at 2.45am this morning (July 27).<\/p>\n

National Highways says two lanes of traffic reopened by 6.50am, with one lane remaining closed until around 12pm this afternoon to clean a spillage on the road following the smash.<\/p>\n

Witnesses are now being urged to come forward with information.<\/p>\n

A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.45am to the northbound carriageway of the M61 between Rivington Services and junction eight.<\/p>\n

“The emergency services attended and it was found that three vehicles had been in collision. One person suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n

“The carriageway was closed for a time while recovery work was done. Two lanes have since reopened.<\/p>\n

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information, please contact 101 \u2013 quoting log 0190.”<\/p>\n
