That should be proof enough that you can trust in us to guide you to your next TV obsession, and we’re back again this week to share our recommendations of what to watch in the next seven days (starting from 28 July). <\/p>\n

There’s plenty worthy of adding to your watch lists, and highlights include the return of Nicola Walker’s much-loved crime drama<\/a> as well as another drama fronted by Keeley Hawes. With something for everyone, let’s get started. <\/p>\n

Annika, season 2 <\/p>\n

Fans who hailed Nicola Walker’s “flawless” acting in the first season of Annika (via Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>) will be pleased to see her return to the role of Detective Inspector Annika Strandhed for season two. While it has already aired on U&Alibi, it’s finally coming to the BBC.<\/p>\n

Expect more puzzling crimes and murders for Annika and the team at Glasgow’s Marine Homicide Unit to get stuck into. While a high-profile case at work takes her attention, Annika must also confront a highly tense situation in her personal life when she is forced to tell an ex-lover that he is the father of her teenage daughter Morgan (Silvie Furneaux).<\/p>\n

Annika season 2 debuts on BBC One on Saturday 2 August at 9:10pm. It will also be available on BBC iPlayer. <\/strong>

Destination X <\/p>\n

Rob Brydon takes the helm as the host of the BBC’s big new competitive reality show<\/a>, Destination X. <\/p>\n

Brydon will shepherd 13 strangers through the adventure of a lifetime, which starts with one simple question: “Where the X are they?” <\/p>\n

Aboard the X bus, with blacked-out windows, they must try to deduce where in the world they are for the chance of winning \u00a3100,000. <\/p>\n

Destination X debuts on BBC One on Wednesday 30 July at 9pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Gone, season 2 <\/p>\n

Season two of The Gone picks up off the back of a tense cliffhanger, in which journalist Aileen Ryan (Carolyn Bracken) had gone missing. <\/p>\n

Now Dublin detective Theo Richter must join forces with Kiwi detective Diana Huia (Acushla-Tara Kupe) to head the desperate search for Aileen. The detectives soon get drawn into a ‘cat and mouse’ game with the infamous ‘The Goatman’ who has returned and is more dangerous than before.<\/p>\n

The Gone season 2 debuts on BBC Two on Thursday 31 July at 9pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Normal People<\/p>\n

Based on Sally Rooney’s novel of the same name, Normal People<\/a> follows the love story between Connell (Paul Mescal) and Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) from school to college. The show became an absolute hit when it first arrived to the BBC back in 2020, and it’s about to get another new streaming home in the UK<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The central pair’s relationship is pushed to breaking as they continue to explore different versions of themselves. But as they grow as individuals, will they find their way back to the love they once shared?<\/p>\n

Normal People season 2 is available to stream on Netflix from Sunday 3 August.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finding Alice <\/p>\n

Having first aired on ITV, Keeley Hawes’ darkly comical drama about a grief-stricken wife, Finding Alice, is about to resurface on Netflix<\/a>. <\/p>\n

After moving into a new home with her husband Harry (Jason Merrells) and daughter Charlotte (Isabella Pappas), Hawes’ Alice has her dreams crushed when Harry is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Alice’s devastation then reaches new heights when she stumbles across a disturbing secret. <\/p>\n

Finding Alice also stars Fool Me Once and Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley.<\/p>\n

Finding Alice is available to stream on Netflix from Friday 1 August.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Marked is a new heist drama coming to Netflix, and it’s been described by the streaming service as an exciting thriller. <\/p>\n

When faced with a bill for her daughter’s crucial operation, Babalwa (Lerato Mvelase), a cash-strapped former police officer with religious values, is forced to decide how far she’ll go for her family as her morals are tested. <\/p>\n

Marked is available to stream on Netflix from Thursday 31 August.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Naruto, season 9 <\/p>\n

Season nine of long-running anime series Naruto<\/a> finally makes its way to Netflix this week, as the story of the young ninja Naruto Uzumaki’s (Junko Takeuchi) plight to become the leader of his village continues.<\/p>\n

This season, Naruto forms an allyship with a man who has a dangerous, secret past. Meanwhile, Temari (Romi Park), Gaara (Tony Beck) and Kankur\u00f4 (Yasuyuki Kase) have their hands full chasing down a gang of rogue ninjas who are attacking the city.
