Police have launched a terror probe after a man was arrested over a disturbance on a flight arriving in Glasgow this morning.<\/p>\n
Officers boarded the Easyjet aircraft from Luton Airport after it landed in Glasgow at 8.20am BST where they arrested the 41-year-old man.<\/p>\n
Footage had been circulating online showing a man shouting from the aisle of the aircraft, \u201cdeath to America, death to Trump,\u201d and \u201cAllahu Akbar\u201d \u2013 an Arabic phrase meaning \u201cGod is most great\u201d.<\/p>\n
Two men then appeared to tackle him to the ground where they told him to stay on the floor.<\/p>\n
Confirming the arrest, Police Scotland said in a statement: \u201cAt this time we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are aware of videos circulating online and these are being assessed by counter terrorism officers.\u201d<\/p>\n
The incident was also confirmed by Easyjet who said its staff acted quickly to resolve the disturbance and ensure that the safety of passengers and crew wasn\u2019t compromised.<\/p>\n
An easyJet spokesperson said: \u201cFlight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour onboard.<\/p>\n
\u201ceasyJet\u2019s crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.<\/p>\n
