In one of her latest posts, the singer and actress shows off her covetable curves while partying with pals on a boat. “Not lost, just yacht-hopping,” she captioned the series of Instagram snaps. “Love youuuuu,” commented one of her friends. “Beautiful,” added another. How does she approach health and wellness? Here are her top diet and fitness habits.

Christina eats incredibly healthy. One of her tricks when it comes to eating? She doesn’t overdo it. “When your stomach feels full, do not eat past that,” she told People.

Christina also counts calories. “I try to only have a certain amount of calories per day but eat right so I can keep my energy up,” she told People. She starts her day with Bustelo espresso and eats an egg white breakfast burrito with spinach, tomatoes, and turkey bacon for breakfast. A few hours later she snacks on a handful of almonds. For lunch she eats a chicken salad with cranberries, tomatoes, and a light champagne dressing. And dinner? Two pieces each of yellowtail, jalapeño salmon and albacore sushi. Her grand calorie total for the day? Just 1,190. She also tries to maintain a low-dairy diet “to avoid cellulite,” she tells People.

Christina hydrates. “I try to drink as close to a gallon of water a day,” she told People. “Hydration is how I keep my skin clear and my body energized throughout the day.” According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is essential for various reasons. Water helps eliminate waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature regular, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

Christina hits the gym for strength training workouts. “Sometimes I get completely focused and I’ll go in and work out— sometimes even twice a day— at least three times a week because I’m so excited and really into it. There’s other times when my schedule gets really crazy and I have to figure out when to fit it in. And then sometimes I’m just lazy— and it’s okay to be lazy. That’s balance for me,” she told Essence. “I also like to do a combination of cardio and strength training. I’ve never really been crazy about bootcamps and CrossFit; those are too rough for me.”

Christina also enjoys getting her sweat on in fresh air. “I love outdoor workouts. In LA I’ll hike up the Canyons at a steady pace; something that gets my heart rate going. “Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between,” says the National Parks Service. Some physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of some respiratory issues. According to a Stanford University study, it also offers many mental health benefits.

Christina Milian is having a hot summer in her bikini.
