Leeds railway station was closed on Saturday afternoon because of a fault with the signalling system.<\/b><\/p>\n

Network Rail said the problem happened at about 16:00 BST and was fixed by about 17:00 BST.<\/p>\n

The station reopened at 18:00 BST but journeys were expected to be affected for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n

On Sunday morning rail services had returned to normal. <\/p>\n

Many travellers are stuck at the station or waiting for replacement buses<\/p>\n

On Saturday, train operator Northern reported “severe disruption” on all its services and added: “We ask that customers do not travel.”<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Network Rail, which issued updates on its website, external<\/a>, said: “We are sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.<\/p>\n

“We strongly urge passengers to check their journeys before travelling.”<\/p>\n
