Police made a huge find after stopping and searching a ‘suspicious’ man in Piccadilly Gardens<\/a> on Saturday night (July 26).<\/p>\n

Officers were on patrol in the city centre as part of GMP’s Operation Custodian when they identified a man in the gardens.<\/p>\n

The force said he was ‘behaving suspiciously’. After he was approached, he was then searched which later revealed a number of small snap bags and a quantity of cocaine.<\/p>\n

The man, whose age was not disclosed by police, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.<\/p>\n

A GMP statement continued: “This swift action highlights the ongoing efforts of the police to combat drug-related crime and ensure the safety of our communities.<\/p>\n

“Drug dealing not only fuels addiction but also contributes to other forms of crime and anti-social behaviour in public spaces.<\/p>\n

“The suspect is currently in custody awaiting further questioning, and investigations are ongoing. This arrest serves as a clear message that such criminal activity will not be tolerated in Manchester.”<\/p>\n
