Apple Watch enthusiasts are buzzing over a new deal on Wowcher that slashes the price of a previously \u00a3249 device to below \u00a3100. Although the Apple Watch Series 5<\/a> is one of the older models in the company’s range, it still stands its ground as a fitness smartwatch today and is now even more affordable as a refurbished option on Wowcher.<\/p>\n

Launched in 2019, the Series 5 <\/a>boasts a Retina Display that continuously displays the time of day or night, along with messages and calls. The gadget also comes equipped with SOS, crash detection, as well as a compass, and usually retails for \u00a3249, according to Wowcher.<\/p>\n

For those who enjoy swimming, it’s waterproof up to 50 meters<\/a> – ideal for all aquatic pursuits, reports the Mirror.<\/a> It also includes a charger – unlike some gadgets.<\/p>\n

However, it’s worth noting that as a 2019 model, it will begin to show its age. The watch is fitted with the older S5 chip, <\/a>and despite its durability, shoppers may not have access to all the apps and features available on a newer Apple Watch. One thing to note as well is that this is a refurbished item, but Wowcher still allows returns of 14 days.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, this discounted Apple Watch is good for those who want to monitor their fitness and stay updated with their phone notifications. However, those wanting some newer alternatives can also find some great deals.<\/p>\n

For Apple fans, BackMarket is offering the Apple Watch Ultra for \u00a3389<\/a> – cheaper than the Galaxy Watch Ultra, despite being refurbished – and it even comes with a 12-month warranty.<\/p>\n

Tech pundits at the Daily Express put the Apple Watch 5 through its paces back in 2019<\/a>. At the time, Tech Editor Dave Snelling commented: “There’s no question the Series 5 is the best Apple Watch that’s ever been made. The new always-on display makes this feel like the device we’ve always desired and the in-built compass is a nice added extra.”<\/p>\n

He continued saying: “Like its predecessors, it packs a swathe of fitness and health tracking features, plus there’s an option to have a fully connected cellular model which means you can leave your phone at home without fear of missing a message or call. This is the most complete wearable on the market and Apple’s rivals have a huge amount of catching up to do.”<\/p>\n

Despite the praise, he did note some shortcomings, particularly regarding the battery life. He pointed out: “However, for all of its greatness, we do have some niggles with the Series 5.
