TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Aston Villa and Newcastle are amongst the sides to have now missed out on Lucas Chevalier to PSG.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has been a quiet summer for both Premier League<\/a> clubs so far.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa<\/a> have made just two signings \u2013 neither of whom are expected to be regular starters \u2013 as Yasin Ozcan and Marco Bizot arrive from Kasimpasa and Brest respectively.<\/p>\n

Newcastle<\/a> have also completed only two signings, although one was a headline addition as the \u00a355m Anthony Elanga followed 18-year-old Antonito Cordero to Tyneside.<\/p>\n

Lucas Chevalier \u2013 however \u2013 will not be moving to either Aston Villa or Newcastle, with PSG now close to announcing the Frenchman.<\/p>\n

Graeme Bailey \u2013 Chief Correspondent at TBR Football<\/strong> \u2013 can now confirm that both the Villans and the Magpies watched the man from Calais closely in their respective hunts to sign new goalkeepers.<\/p>\n

We understand Chevalier was also on the radar of Manchester United as Ruben Amorim aims to upgrade on Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. <\/p>\n

However, PSG have now swooped to sign the 23-year-old in a \u20ac35m (\u00a330m) move from Lille, and the deal could see Gianluigi Donnarumma leave Paris.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Bailey says: \u201cChevalier has been watched closely by most of the Premier League \u2013 he was very much still on the radar of the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle and Manchester United.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he is now set to stay in France. It does now look like Donnarumma could be sold, and he himself could be heading to England. The goalkeeper market has suddenly become a fascinating one.\u201d<\/p>\n

TBR Football<\/strong> understand Aston Villa also wanted Joan Garcia<\/a> before his \u00a321m move to Barcelona earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Chevalier kept 13 clean sheets in 48 appearances across all competitions last season.<\/p>\n

Gianluigi Donnarumma could move to Manchester City<\/p>\n

TBR Football<\/strong> are aware that Manchester City are speaking to the representatives of Donnarumma<\/a> after the Italy international rejected a new contract at PSG.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The PSG No.1 sees his current deal expire in less than 12 months, so PSG must facilitate a sale this summer if contract discussions continue to stutter, or else they risk losing him for nothing in 2026.<\/p>\n
