At least six people have been killed after a mass shooting<\/a> in a market in Bangkok, Thailand<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The incident occurred at a popular fresh food market in Thailand’s capital on Monday, police said.<\/p>\n

Local media is currently reporting that the shooting took place at the Or Tor Kor market in Bangkok\u2019s Chatuchak district, a popular destination for tourists.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The perpetrator, who is reportedly a 61-year-old man named only as Mr. Noi, took his own life following the attack.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Noi was seen wearing a black T-shirt and cream shorts while wearing a camouflage-patterned backpack on his front.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After carrying out the attack, he reportedly shot himself on a nearby bench.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘Police are investigating the motive. So far it’s a mass shooting,’ said Worapat Sukthai, deputy police chief of Bangkok’s Bang Sue district where the incident took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cops are also investigating ‘for any possible link’ to the border clashes Thailand is currently engaging in with Cambodia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Guns are easily obtained in Thailand due to lax gun control<\/a> enforcement, making mass shootings common.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
