A BUDGET airline is scrapping two popular flight routes from the UK to Spain.<\/p>\n

From July, Vueling will no longer operate flights from London<\/a> Gatwick to both Gran Canaria and Granada.<\/p>\n

The end of the Gatwick-Granada route means there will be no direct flights from the UKCredit: Alamy<\/p>\n

The airline currently operates three flights a week to Gran Canaria from London Gatwick<\/a>, and two a week to Granada.<\/p>\n

Brits will still be able to fly to Gran Canaria from the UK with a number of other airlines including British Airways<\/a>, easyJet and Ryanair.<\/p>\n

However, the Gatwick-Granada route is only served by Vueling, with passengers having to book a connecting flight from July.<\/p>\n

A Vueling spokesperson told Sun Online Travel: “At Vueling, we constantly review our route network to offer customers the best possible connectivity options and to identify potential opportunities for the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“As an example of this, Vueling has recently announced new routes from London Heathrow<\/a> to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela. For the summer season, the airline has also increased the number of flights from London Gatwick to Alicante and Seville, among other destinations.”<\/p>\n

The airline currently operates from both London Gatwick and London Heathrow, along with Birmingham, Edinburgh, Cardiff, and Manchester<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The majority of the flight routes are to Spain<\/a>, including destinations such as Barcelona, Seville and Malaga.<\/p>\n

However, limited routes run elsewhere in Europe including to Paris<\/a>, Florence and Rome.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Vueling confirmed two new flights from London Heathrow to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela.<\/p>\n

Other airlines have cancelled flight routes from the UK in previous months.<\/p>\n

The Sun travels to Gran Canaria to experience the best of the volcanic Island<\/p>\n

And Ryanair<\/a> has warned more flights could be cancelled to Spain.<\/a><\/p>\n

The airline blamed “excessive fees” at airports in\u00a0Spain<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TUI’s London\u00a0Gatwick to Costa Rica route <\/a>will be scrapped from April, followed by St Lucia flights from the end of May.<\/p>\n

And TUI’s Birmingham\u00a0to Orlando flight route is no longer on offer from October.<\/p>\n

EasyJet’s recent cancellations include\u00a0Manchester\u00a0and\u00a0Bristol\u00a0Airport to\u00a0Paris<\/a>\u00a0Orly.<\/p>\n
