The incident occurred over the weekend<\/p>\n

Lifeboat crews have rescued two people aboard a \u201cstranded\u201d boat at Upper Lough Erne in Co Fermanagh.<\/p>\n

Volunteers from Carrybridge Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) launched the operation at 6.30pm on Saturday after reports of two adults stranded on a vessel.<\/p>\n

The pair were found one mile from the Share Holiday village area with both being in a safe condition.<\/p>\n

After RNLI staff assessed the situation, they discovered the propulsion mechanism was entangled with heavy weed growth prompting them to tow the boat into deeper water.<\/p>\n

A sea worthiness check by the lifeboat crews concluded the vessel was in working in order and proceeded on with its journey.<\/p>\n

RNLI spokesperson Chris Cathcart said: \u2018\u2018We would advise all boat users before setting out on your journey to please plan your route ahead using the relevant charts for the area and carry out regular checks of your current position whilst you proceed.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarry out regular maintenance checks on your vessel, as currently there is a lot of extra weed growth on Upper Lough Erne, and it is worth watching for these areas of heavier growth in order to avoid them.<\/p>\n

“Have a means of calling for assistance if you find yourself in trouble and have lifejackets for all on board.<\/p>\n
