The BBC<\/a> are believed to have quietly shelved a long-running favourite after 15 years on air. While the original version of the show will continue it’s celebrity spin-off has reportedly been dropped from the regular schedule. Celebrity Antiques Road Trip<\/a> is believed to have been shelved for the remainder of the year. The show saw two celebrities go head-to-head<\/a> as they travel the country to try to find secret gems which they can later auction off<\/a>. The celebrities picked are typically stars who know each other, or have worked together or against each other in the past.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for fans, the celebrity version of the show has now been shelved. A source told The Sun Online: “Celebrity Antiques Road Trip has proved a popular show for the BBC<\/a>, but the focus right now is the original version of the show. A final decision hasn’t been made on its future just yet, but it’s definitely being rested for the remainder of the year and bosses will reassess in 2026.”<\/p>\n

Express.co.uk have approached BBC<\/a> for comment.<\/p>\n

Celebrity Antiques Road Trip first launched in 2011 as a spin-off show to the much loved staple programme Antiques Road Trip which premiered a year earlier.<\/p>\n

Narrated by Tim Wonnacott, the series sees two antiques experts given a week’s budget of \u00a31,500 each to travel across the country – in a fabulous classic car – and buy antiques and collectibles that are then sold at auction.<\/p>\n

Each celebrity is paired with an expert the celebrity duo are given a strict budget to find trinkets that may secretly hold value.<\/p>\n

The winner was whoever takes home the most at an auction at the end of the episode.<\/p>\n

Among the celebrities who have appeared on the programme included Richard Osman alongside his now-wife Ingrid Oliver, while Gemma Collins went head-to-head with Melvin Odoom.<\/p>\n
