She burst on to the London<\/a> scene in the Nineties as a lingerie model, landing magazine covers and starring in ad campaigns for household favourites Diet Coke and Pizza Hut.<\/p>\n

But now Caprice<\/a> Bourret has revealed she no longer feels safe in the city she\u2019s called home for the last 30 years due to a rise in anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n

The Californian-born blonde, who is Jewish, adds she\u2019s going to great lengths to protect herself and her family from being attacked for their faith.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s such a terrible time to be Jewish because of the hate we can and do receive,\u2019 she tells me.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t recognise this country anymore. Nobody should feel afraid or intimidated because of their religion.<\/p>\n

\u2018The whole concept is bizarre to me, but it\u2019s happening right now.\u2019<\/p>\n

The 53-year-old \u2013 who since her modelling heyday has also become a businesswoman and media personality \u2013 lives in West London with her husband American financier Ty Comfort and sons, Jax and Jett, both 11.<\/p>\n

\u2018I had to take the Mezuzah down from my door\u2026 I was afraid for the safety for my children,\u2019 she adds, referring to the small case containing a parchment scroll with verses from the Torah affixed to the doorposts of Jewish homes.<\/p>\n

Caprice, who was previously romantically linked to Sir Rod Stewart, Hollywood star Dennis Quaid and Prince Andrew, is the daughter of a Jewish mother and a French-Canadian father \u2013 hence the Gallic surname.<\/p>\n

She says despite what she sees as increased animosity towards Jewish people, her faith won\u2019t be shaken.<\/p>\n

\u2018It has made me closer to Judaism,\u2019 she says.<\/p>\n

\u2018And weirdly enough, with all of this backlash and propaganda against us, it\u2019s made the community a lot closer. It\u2019s really scary, more than anything. My kids are scared and I have to protect them.\u2019<\/p>\n

Kate, 51, adds of one style offence she witnessed: \u2018It was the weirdest look. She had a pork-pie hat, a yellow Chanel backpack, tights, leather shorts, a yellow Nike high top trainer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I pulled them over and said, \u201cWhere are you from?\u201d They said France. They\u2019re definitely not from Paris, that\u2019s for sure.\u2019<\/p>\n

I can reveal the Shirley Valentine star says Transport for London (TfL) wrongly fined him more than \u00a31,200, alleging a technical failure cancelled his ULEZ payments without his knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u2018When I bought the car I\u2019m driving, I put it on auto pay because it\u2019s not ULEZ\u2013compliant,\u2019 he tells me.<\/p>\n

\u2018A year later, a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) came in saying, \u201cYou didn\u2019t pay the ULEZ charge\u201d. I discovered the autopay had been removed. I explained. I got no response. Another PCN came in.\u2019<\/p>\n

A TfL spokesman said the charges and penalties were a result of Conti \u2018removing his vehicle from auto pay when he was changing the vehicle on the account\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They added: \u2018We are sorry that more understanding wasn\u2019t shown to Mr Conti when an appeal was submitted after the deadline. As this was clearly a case of human error, we have used our discretion to cancel the outstanding balance.\u2019<\/p>\n

Conti, 83, says he\u2019s \u2018grateful\u2019 for the \u2018good result\u2019.<\/p>\n
