{"id":299910,"date":"2025-07-29T01:18:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T01:18:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/299910\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T01:18:10","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T01:18:10","slug":"board-changes-at-booksellers-aotearoa-nz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/299910\/","title":{"rendered":"Board changes at Booksellers Aotearoa NZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\tTuesday, 29 July 2025 \u00a0 Books+Publishing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/booksandpublishing\/\" class=\"entry-social\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> @booksandpublishing<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Booksellers Aotearoa New Zealand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.booksellers.co.nz\/?utm_source=Book+Industry&amp;utm_campaign=400af47c27-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2025_04_01_03_39_COPY_01&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_-b5c2c036a9-659953695\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has appointed three new board members<\/a> at its AGM, held as part of the organisation\u2019s annual conference, while two existing members are departing the board.<\/p>\n<p>New appointees include Mary-Liz Corbett of Matakana Village Books; Alison Southby of Poppies Hamilton; and Robbie Egan, outgoing CEO at BookPeople Australia, who is stepping in as a new independent director for the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, board members University Bookshop Canterbury manager Pene Whitty and Poppies Group director Tony Moores are both departing.<\/p>\n<p>Association manager Renee Rowland said: \u2018Pene Whitty and Tony Moores served on the board through many years and many trials including covid-19 and the development of BookHub. Board positions are voluntary, so the time, energy, experience and knowledge given by Tony and Pene are effectively donations into our bank \u2013 donations we all benefit and draw on.
