Princess Charlotte<\/a>‘s special soccer Sunday with Prince William<\/a> included a rare meeting with a future queen.\n<\/p>\n On July 27, the Prince of Wales, 43, brought along his only daughter<\/a> to the final of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, in which England’s national team, nicknamed the Lionesses, played Spain in Switzerland.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Prince William attended in his royal role as patron of the Football Association, English soccer’s governing body, and he and Charlotte mingled with two members of the Spanish royal family behind the scenes.\n<\/p>\n Prince William and Princess Charlotte, 10, met up with Princess Leonor<\/a> and Princess Sofia<\/a> of Spain at the game, and a statement<\/a> from the Royal Household of Spain said that they all spoke before the match began at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.\n<\/p>\n Prince William, Princess Charlotte, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia on July 27, 2025.<\/p>\n Casa de S.M. el Rey\/X<\/p>\n Princess Leonor, 19, and Princess Sofia, 18, are the daughters of King Felipe<\/a> and Queen Letizia<\/a>, and Leonor follows her father in the direct line of succession to the throne. Princess Leonor will become Spain\u2019s first queen regnant since Queen Isabella II, who reigned from 1833 to 1868, when she accedes one day.\n<\/p>\n Both the Spanish royal household and Kensington Palace posted photos of the royal meeting at the Euro finals, and the montage included a sweet shot of Princess Charlotte shaking hands with Princess Leonor. May the best team win, @CasaReal<\/a>!” Kensington Palace captioned a photo of the royal meeting on social media.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n Cameras captured Prince William, Princess Charlotte, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia sitting in the same row during the match, closely following the action. W & Charlotte,” read a joint message from Prince William and Princess Charlotte shared to social media<\/a>.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The Prince of Wales is a vocal soccer follower<\/a> and seems to be raising Princess Charlotte with a passion for the Lionesses.
