Photo: Rup11 | <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Freud_Museum#\/media\/File:Freud_Museum_London_1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CC BY-SA 3.0<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\">In what could be a battle of egos, the Freud Museum has filed a Serious Incident Report to the Charities Commission over an internal dispute between some members of staff and a section of the London institution\u2019s board of trustees. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\">The report is a legal requirement from the Commission, requiring \u2018frank\u2019 internal reflection on whether there have been alleged \u2018incidents that have resulted in or risk significant harm to beneficiaries and other people who come into contact with the charity through its work\u2019, as well as in the case of financial irregularities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/culture\/2025\/jul\/25\/freud-museum-faces-inquiry-over-bullying-and-board-misconduct-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Guardian<\/a> reports a group of external \u2018friends\u2019, including former directors, as well as writers and thinkers such as Susie Orbach, Slavoj \u017di\u017eek,\u00a0Hanif Kureishi\u00a0and Marina Warner, have written to the Commission in support of staff. \u2018Many of us have worked at or with the museum since its opening in 1986, and there has simply never been a comparable degradation of staff-board relations or any comparable efforts to run the museum in an autocratic and partisan way.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"Typography__Paragraph-takw91-2 cxinL\">Susanna Abse, a trustee at the museum told the newspaper, \u2018We have nothing to hide.
