Users have been warned that a major change is coming to UK phone lines, with 137 UK areas the latest places to be affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Telephone providers are upgrading the landline network from analogue to digital. The shake-up means that phone calls will be carried over a broadband<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/uk-news\/certain-people-landlines-urged-make-31968455?service=responsive\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> connection instead of through copper wires.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">BT&#8217;s Openreach service has just announced 137 new locations on its Stop Sell list. James Lilley, Openreach\u2019s Managed Customer Migrations Manager, said: \u201cThe stop sell programme is a critical part of ensuring that the UK\u2019s communication infrastructure is ready to meet the demands of the future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" triggered by the consumer switching service provider or upgrading their broadband or phone service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Some broadband providers may also switch blocks of customers in areas to full fibre, to help with qualifying for volume discounts and also as providers find the reliability of full fibre decreases support costs once the upgrade is
