Recent Huddersfield Town signing Alfie May may have been gutted to leave Birmingham City, but he has a massive opportunity to prove Chris Davies wrong on this occasion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Huddersfield Town<\/a> have bolstered their frontline with the signing of Alfie May from Birmingham City<\/a> after the forward was made surplus to requirements by Blues boss Chris Davies.<\/p>\n

It was regarded as quite a surprise departure for the Blues, with Birmingham City fans gutted to see May go<\/a> after the integral part he played in the 2024\/25 League One winning campaign.<\/p>\n

May will now ply his trade at the John Smith\u2019s Stadium with the Terriers \u2013 not the location he expected to be following Birmingham\u2019s promotion, however, it gives him the platform to show the quality he possesses.<\/p>\n

Birmingham City have heavily recruited this summer, which ultimately left Alfie May out of Chris Davies\u2019 plans, despite the forward notching 16 goals and also contributing eight assists.<\/p>\n

In fact, the 32-year-old managed to tally two more goal contributions than blockbuster signing Jay Stansfield, but nonetheless, Davies named him ahead of May in the striker pecking order.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, from May\u2019s perspective, he has joined an ambitious League One club that will be hoping to notch promotion under the stewardship of Lee Grant. The Terriers have recruited exceptionally this summer, with proven Championship talent Marcus Harness dropping down the divisions.<\/p>\n

There is no doubt that May will be Huddersfield Town\u2019s go-to forward this season, and if he can notch promotion with the Terriers, he will no doubt then be handed his chance in the Championship, which would prove Davies wrong about his abilities.<\/p>\n

There is no doubting that Alfie May will continue his goalscoring streak, as has been showcased at Birmingham City and Charlton Athletic, with Huddersfield Town.<\/p>\n

The positive side for May is the fact that he will be in comfortable territory in League One, where he has proven himself to be a red-hot goalscorer.<\/p>\n

Lee Hendrie, when speaking to Football League World<\/a>, also thinks that it is a great move for the forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it looked like Alfie May was not going to play much this season at Birmingham,\u201d Hendrie said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think what he did at Blues last season showed that he is more than capable of stepping into a team in League One, particularly a team that is striving and looking forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe showed that he was really key in the way that they used him, and I think he will probably feature more at Huddersfield \u2013 I think he will be a really good signing for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he will have a point to prove as well. I think he will feel a bit gutted that, with Blues getting promoted, and obviously being on the up, he will not be a part of the squad.<\/p>\n
