\n Baker & Baker, which employs 650 people at its\u00a0site on Stadium Road in Bromborough, has announced that its Group revenue grew slightly to \u20ac623.5m during the period. It also reported robust gross profit growth of 7.5% to \u20ac90.1m, and adjusted EBITDA increased to \u20ac32.7m.\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the firm\u00a0described its\u00a0financial performance as\u00a0‘solid’.\n<\/p>\n
\n The group recorded a ‘slight decline’ in product volumes of 3.7% during the year, due to ‘rising raw material costs and other inflationary effects’.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, this was offset by gross profit growth driven by ‘a positive shift in product mix and effective measures to improve efficiency in the group\u2019s operations’.\n<\/p>\n
\n It was described as\u00a0‘another solid financial performance’ by the Group in 2024, with ‘continued profit growth’.\n<\/p>\n

\n Baker & Baker’s European operations continued to strengthen\u00a0with approximately \u20ac14 million invested during the year in productivity, growth\u00a0and sustenance projects across its 12 manufacturing sites.\n<\/p>\n
\n This included a range of capital initiatives that were either delivered or initiated throughout 2024.\n<\/p>\n
\n These include a significant investment at the business’\u00a0Delmenhorst site in Germany to improve the management and filtration of palm oil across the site\u2019s doughnut lines.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the company said the\u00a0project ‘will deliver cost savings in addition to its positive sustainability impact, due to avoided carbon emissions via the use of lower palm oil volumes’.\n<\/p>\n
\n The group has also\u00a0invested in its\u00a0Bradford site to install a new chocolate system, allowing the site to diversity its product offering. It was a\u00a0move said to have\u00a0paved the way for the launch of three new products into continental Europe \u2013 a Milka chocolate cluster, Milka cookies and a Milka chocolate topped brownie.\n<\/p>\n
\n This product range has already seen ‘strong initial growth’\u00a0in France during the first half of 2025.\n<\/p>\n
\n Finally, Baker & Baker\u2019s German business finalised a move to a new office in the vibrant \u00dcberseestadt district of Bremen. The\u00a0office\u00a0also features\u00a0a test bakery.\n<\/p>\n
\n The company’s chief executive\u00a0Matthew Acheson said: “Baker & Baker remains a clear leader in the American Sweet Bakery category in Europe\u00a0and our customers trust our expertise and market insight to drive sales across the retail and food service channels.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We are pleased to have delivered another year of solid financial performance across the Group, despite facing a series of geopolitical headwinds and fluctuating consumer confidence.\n<\/p>\n
