Zoe West, originally from the Yorkshire Coast\u2019s <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/first-look-inside-venue-hoping-31421645\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">seaside town<\/a> of Redcar, was among those who walked away with an accolade from this year\u2019s Pantomime Awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The actor was crowned Best Villain for their role as baddie Danny Rough in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/everyman-theatre\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool Everyman\u2019s<\/a> production of Rapunzel. They attended a ceremony \u201cfull of song and laughter\u201d at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, to collect the trophy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The evening featured special guest performances from singer Anita Harris, family favourite Basil Brush with cabaret performer Kevin Cruise &#8211; aka Martin Cabble-Reid &#8211; and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/itv\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">ITV<\/a> <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/britains-got-talent\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Britain\u2019s Got Talent<\/a> rising star ventriloquist Jamie Leahey.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_Best-Villain-winner-Zoe-West-at-The-Pantomime-Awards-2025-photo-Victoria-Davies-Photography-_-UKPA.webp\" alt=\"Zoe West won an award for their role as the villain in Rapunzel at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre.\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Zoe West won an award for their role as the villain in Rapunzel at Liverpool&#8217;s Everyman Theatre.(Image: The Pantomime Awards 2025)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The evening\u2019s In Memoriam honoured and celebrated many of the special and talented friends that the pantomime industry has sadly lost this year, both on and off stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">After walking away as a winner, Zoe shared their wish for future crowds in the city. They <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">told the ECHO<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to have won the award for Best Villain at this year\u2019s Pantomime Awards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI absolutely love panto and think The Everyman is really bringing it into the 21st century; celebrating the power of laughter and shared joy whilst challenging the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/went-see-aladdin-liverpool-ended-30579496\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">expectations of traditional pantomime <\/a>&#8211; that\u2019s something I\u2019m extremely proud to be a part of.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;I love Liverpool audiences so much, and I can only hope to match their passion and energy when I don the moustache.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Elsewhere in the evening, Elaine C Smith picked up the illustrious Outstanding Achievement in Pantomime award for her contribution to the Industry for many decades as one of Scotland\u2019s legends.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/0_Everyman-Theatre-on-Hope-Street-Liverpool-Photo-by-Colin-Lane.jpg\" alt=\"The Rock 'n' Roll Panto Zoe starred in ran at the Everyman Theatre for several months in 2024\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Rock &#8216;n&#8217; Roll Panto Zoe starred in ran at the Everyman Theatre for several months in 2024(Image: Colin Lane\/Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Elaine was also one of the Awards show\u2019s trio of presenters, sharing the stage for the evening with fellow performers, Dave Benson Phillips and La Voix.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Special Recognition Awards, which celebrate productions and individuals representing the values the association seeks to promote, were given to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"UnorderedList_unordered-list__gzblI\">\n<li class=\"sc-700e1ff3-0 ENBBt\">He\u2019s Behind You!
