A McDonald’s restaurant<\/a> in Glasgow has been taped off by police after a car rammed into a drive-thru barrier.<\/p>\n

Officers from Police Scotland are currently at the scene<\/a> of the collision near to the Glasgow Fort on Auchinlea Way.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews, including firefighters, were scrambled to the incident <\/a>after the alarm was received at around 1.10pm on Tuesday, July 29.<\/p>\n

The driver of the car involved in the crash <\/a>has been taken to hospital to be checked over. There were no other injuries<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Images from the scene show the bonnet of the black vehicle smashed into the side of the building<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The walls of the chain have been pictured destroyed while a large cordon <\/a>remains in place. Police say inquiries <\/a>are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A statement from Police Scotland<\/a> reads: “Around 1.10pm on Tuesday, 29 July, 2025, we were called to a report of a crash on Auchinlea Way, Glasgow, where a car had struck a building.<\/p>\n

“Officers attended and the driver of the car has been taken to hospital to be checked over.
