Sheffield Wednesday have decided whether or not they will sign a player who was released by a Championship club.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Owls are struggling to add new players to their squad this summer due to their ongoing financial problems.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday<\/a> have been hit with a transfer embargo lasting for three windows.<\/p>\n

It means that the Yorkshire club can only bring new players to the club on free transfers or no-fee loans.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s recruitment team are working on targets<\/a> despite this, though one player won\u2019t be joining the club.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday took Mohamed Konate on trial<\/a>\u00a0earlier this month, and he has featured in a few friendlies for the Owls.<\/p>\n

Alexander Asaba has featured for the Yorkshire club in recent weeks as well.<\/p>\n

And it was previously reported that Sheffield Wednesday played an unknown goalkeeper<\/a> during a recent friendly ahead of a potential signing.<\/p>\n

It has now been shared that said shot-stopper was former Hull City player Shea Callister, who was released by the Tigers earlier this year.<\/p>\n

However, Callister will not be putting pen to paper on a permanent deal with Wednesday, as Joe Crann has reported for The Star that the keeper\u2019s trial is over and he will now look for another club.<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday player could leave<\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday have parted ways with a number of stars already this summer.<\/p>\n

Josh Windass and Michael Smith are among the big-name exits, but more players could still depart in the next month or so.<\/p>\n

It has recently emerged that Callum Paterson is wanted by MK Dons and Oxford United<\/a>, who have an advantage regarding a deal, given that, unlike Wednesday, they have no wage cap.<\/p>\n

Paterson is out of contract right now, so he will leave for free. Barry Bannan is in a similar situation, but his future is less clear.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
