{"id":301776,"date":"2025-07-29T17:42:22","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T17:42:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/301776\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T17:42:22","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T17:42:22","slug":"a-fingers-feat-chinese-fitness-influencer-deadlifts-over-300-lbs-with-just-one-digit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/301776\/","title":{"rendered":"A finger\u2019s feat: Chinese fitness influencer deadlifts over 300 lbs with just one digit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If Liu Weiqiang (China) ever challenges you to a thumb-war\u2026 we recommend you sit that one out.<\/p>\n<p>The fitness influencer and world record holder just claimed an intense new Guinness World Records title this February for<strong> heaviest deadlift with one finger<\/strong>, after hoisting 319.05 lbs (144.72 kg) into the air with just his middle digit.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/heaviest-deadlift-finger-weights.jpg\" alt=\"The weights Liu used on the ground\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Although the weightlifter is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/news\/2023\/8\/fitness-influencer-smashes-eight-astonishing-strength-records-in-one-year-757130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no stranger to breaking records<\/a>, Liu Weiqiang completed the unusual challenge for the first time on 2 February, and managed to take the record set by Egmond Molina (Aruba) by over 13 lbs (6 kg)!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/heaviest-deadlift-finger-carabiner.jpg\" alt=\"Close up of the carabiner connecting Liu's weights\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>To make a weighted device that he could hold with just one finger, Liu Weiqiang connected a carabiner to a thick fitness cable that held six metal plates measuring over 300 lbs (136 kg).<\/p>\n<p>With some assistance from witnesses, they weighed every part of the mechanism before Liu Weiqiang assumed his stance and prepared to deadlift.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/heaviest-deadlift-finger-witnesses.jpg\" alt=\"Liu's friends watching him perform\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Witnesses helping Liu Weiqiang with his attempt<\/p>\n<p>He chose to lift the weights with the middle finger on his left hand, wrapping his digit around the carabiner and grimacing as yanked the <a href=\"https:\/\/bear.org\/bear-facts\/weight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">weight of a black bear<\/a> off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>For nearly 10 seconds, he struggled yet held that upright pose, until finally he gently placed the weight back on the ground and accepted congratulations from amazed onlookers.<\/p>\n<p>If <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt4508902\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">One-Punch Man<\/a>\u00a0can defeat his enemies with just one hit, imagine what Liu Weiqiang can do with just one finger!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/heaviest-deadlift-finger-liu-deadlifting.jpg\" alt=\"Liu lifting the weight\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This new Guinness World Records title is just the latest in a long list of weightlifting accomplishments for the 29-year-old strongman hailing from Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, China.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, he collected eight new Guinness World Records titles for his performances in the gym, including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Most ring dips in one minute carrying a 60 lb pack (male)<\/strong> &#8211; 36<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Most pull ups in one minute with a 80 lb pack<\/strong> &#8211; 25<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Most ring dips in one minute carrying a 100 lb pack (male)<\/strong> &#8211; 20<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Heaviest weighted pull up<\/strong> &#8211; 240.7 lbs (109.20 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Heaviest weighted tricep dip<\/strong> &#8211; 340 lbs (154.20 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Heaviest single repetition weighted ring muscle up (male)<\/strong> &#8211; 97.7 lbs (44.30 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Most ring dips in one minute carrying a 40 lb pack (male)<\/strong> &#8211; 92.6 lbs (42 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Most knuckle push ups carrying 80 lb pack in one minute<\/strong> &#8211; 158.7 lbs (72 kg)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Reflecting on his achievements, Liu Weiqiang said: \u201cSince starting my job, I&#8217;ve had less time for fitness, and I&#8217;ve felt a bit slack.
