Birmingham City didn\u2019t pursue a deal for Tottenham\u2019s Mikey Moore as they felt they wouldn\u2019t be able to guarantee the youngster regular game time this season. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The 17-year-old is extremely highly-rated at Spurs, and he actually played 10 Premier League games in the previous campaign, as well as featuring throughout their Europa League journey as the Londoners lifted the trophy.<\/p>\n\n

However, it was decided that a loan move was the next best step for Moore\u2019s development, and a host of clubs had been linked with the teenager, including Birmingham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s Rangers who are set to win the race for Moore, with the England youth international set to join the Glasgow outfit for the 2025\/26 season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Given his potential, some Blues<\/a> fans were disappointed that the club missed out on a deal for Moore, particularly as Chris Davies had a connection with Spurs and Moore, as he had worked as an assistant to Ange Postecoglou before moving to St. Andrew\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Yet, Give Me Sport has revealed<\/a> that Davies and the recruitment team at Birmingham<\/a> decided against signing Moore as they realised they wouldn\u2019t guarantee the attacker the minutes he wanted.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s added that Davies recognised that not utilising Moore regularly would not go down well at Spurs, and he didn\u2019t want to damage Blues\u2019 reputation as they may look to do further deals in the future.<\/p>\n

With Demarai Gray, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Kanya Fujimoto through the door<\/a>, Blues have already increased their options in the final third, and you would still expect another wide man to arrive.<\/p>\n

So, Moore would not be guaranteed game time, and Spurs would have prioritised a club where they thought he would be in the XI week in, week out, so it would not have gone down well if he was sitting on the bench at St. Andrew\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Of course, in an ideal world, it would be great to have a player like that involved, but, as outlined above, that\u2019s not what Spurs or Moore want, so Blues<\/a> have made the right decision.<\/p>\n

On paper, Davies\u2019 best XI looks very good, and they have had a brilliant window, but another attacking option could beef up the squad as they prepare for a long, tough season.<\/p>\n
