class=\"byline-section\"> Updated:  17:32 EDT, 29 July 2025   <\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Britain has not reached \u2018peak Greggs\u2019, the boss of the bakery chain insisted yesterday, amid fears Ozempic could suppress appetite for its food.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Chief executive Roisin Currie said she has faith in plans to expand to 3,000 shops over the next few years as there are still plenty of areas where it does not have a presence.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018I absolutely don\u2019t believe we have reached peak Greggs,\u2019 Currie said, adding the business would expand into retail parks and supermarkets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The comments came as Greggs said footfall at its 2,649 shops was hit by \u2018unusually hot weather\u2019 in June, dragging profits down by 14.3 per cent to \u00a363.5million for the first six months of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The heatwaves deterred shoppers from buying hot pastries, a spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Currie said the company has a \u2018watching brief\u2019 on how fat jabs are changing what people buy
