Prince William and Kate Middleton<\/a> may be on the move again three years after relocating from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage <\/a>on the Windsor Estate.<\/p>\n

According to The Daily Mail<\/a>, William and Kate<\/a>\u2014along with their three kids: Prince George<\/a>, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis\u2014are looking to move into the \u201cmagnificent gothic revival mansion\u201d of Fort Belvedere, which is \u201cnestled in a hidden corner of Windsor Great Park\u201d and sits on 59 acres. The 18th-century home also has a tennis court, a private outdoor swimming pool, a rose garden, a greenhouse, private stables, multiple lakes, and three cottages for the Prince and Princess of Wales\u2019 staff. The estate was previously inhabited by William\u2019s ancestor Edward VIII, who lived in the home after he abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson.<\/p>\n

As for why William and Kate<\/a> are looking to move, The Daily Mail reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales \u201cfeel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage\u201d now that their kids are older and \u201cneed something more substantial.\u201d \u201cThis is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis,\u201d a source said.<\/p>\n

According to The Daily Mail, a \u201cmove to a more substantial property would mark a new chapter\u201d for William and Kate, especially after spending much of Kate\u2019s cancer treatment at Adelaide Cottage in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail also reported that Fort Belvedere is just one of several homes William and Kate are looking into, and that \u201cno move is imminent.\u201d Previously, there were rumors that William and Kate were interested in moving into the Royal Lodge\u2014the 30-room mansion where Prince Andrew lives with his ex-wife Sarah Feguson\u2014but \u201cAndrew resisted pressure from King [Charles] to leave.\u201d The Daily Mail also reported that William and Kate considered moving into a wing of Windsor Castle but the area is \u201cunderstood to no longer be viable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors of William and Kate\u2019s move also come after reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a>, who moved to the United States in 2019 and now live in Montecito, California, were relocating back to the United Kingdom as Harry repairs his relationship with his father, King Charles.<\/p>\n

The rumors came after Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles, told Study Dog that Harry is \u201cquite keen\u201d for his and Meghan\u2019s children\u2014Archie and Lilibet\u2014to experience British schooling. \u201cIt\u2019s very likely and completely possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they have their younger education in America, I\u2019m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.\u201d<\/p>\n

A source for People<\/a>, however, debunked the rumors. A source confirmed to the magazine that Harry and Meghan are happy living in and raising their family in California and have no plans to leave. That said, he could be coming back to the U.K. more often if his aides\u2019 recent meeting with Charles\u2019 staff means anything for their future relationship. \u201cIt was a good first step,\u201d an insider told People in July 2025. \u201cIt is always better to be talking.\u201d<\/p>\n
