Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of their pre-season friendly against Yokohama F Marinos on Wednesday (11:30am).<\/p>\n
Alexis Mac Allister<\/a> has returned to full training in a timely boost ahead of the new Premier League<\/a> season. However, it’s unclear whether the friendly against Yokohama has come too soon.<\/p>\n The midfielder missed the Reds’<\/a> final matches last season against Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, after Arne Slot <\/a>revealed he had played through the latter part of the campaign with an injury and needed time to fully recover. But it\u2019s nice to be out there.”<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Alisson Becker<\/strong> will miss Wednesday\u2019s match after flying back to Merseyside due to a personal matter. He is expected to rejoin his teammates when they return to training at the AXA Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n It means Giorgi Mamardashvili is expected to start against Yokohama while Hugo Ekitike could wear Liverpool colours for the first time. Elsewhere, Joe Gomez<\/strong> has also flown home from the pre-season tour due to a minor Achilles injury.<\/p>\n After the defender complained of discomfort, Slot said: “He was with us for the first part of the week, but he had some Achilles problems. We thought it was better to assess it back in England and for him to work on him to come back to the team, probably in more ideal circumstances for him than be part of the group that every time goes out.<\/p>\n “So, we decided to let him go back to England.
