Appointments can be booked via the charity’s website: www.dementiauk.org.

The initiative aims to help individuals and families better understand dementia symptoms, diagnosis, progression, and legal or financial planning. Nurses will provide both practical and emotional support in private spaces within the bank branch.

With someone in the UK developing dementia every three minutes, early recognition and support are vital. To help start those conversations, Admiral Nurses have shared guidance on how to approach loved ones about potential symptoms:

Act: Take advantage of emotionally charged moments to gently raise concerns.

Explain: Emphasise that symptoms may stem from other conditions, and stress the value of seeing a GP.

Support: Offer help arranging appointments and keeping a symptom diary.

Ruby Guild, Admiral Nurse at Dementia UK, said: “We’re looking forward to returning to Bristol. Nationwide branches offer a safe and private space for people to access specialist support for dementia, and the Fairer Futures partnership is helping us bring face-to-face support to people in a familiar location.”

Debbie Crosbie, Chief Executive Officer of Nationwide, added: “Nationwide wants to help people live their best life possible, for as long as possible. By working with Dementia UK to fund more Admiral Nurses and turning our branches into dementia clinics, we’re helping to tackle the country’s leading cause of death.”

Nationwide is funding 30 Admiral Nurse posts and hosting 200 pop-up clinics nationwide.

For more information or to book an appointment, visit: www.dementiauk.org/information-and-support/how-we-can-support-you/admiral-nurse-clinics/nationwide.

Read all the latest news from in and around Bristol.

Specialist dementia nurses are returning to a city branch of a UK building society to help those struggling…

[8818
381,33581,748,393,4884,12893,16,15
0":"post-303405","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bristol","8":"tag-bristol","9":"tag-bristol-post","10":"tag-britain","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-great-britain","13":"tag-inyourarea-community","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom
["GET
