A four-year-old girl was bitten by an XL bully on a riverside footpath in Salford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> has issued an appeal for information this morning (July 30) after the youngster was attacked by a dog on the River Irwell footpath, in Kersal.<\/p>\n

The incident took place at some point between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday, July 19.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the young girl did not suffer any serious injuries from the attack, GMP says.<\/p>\n

The force is now urging any witnesses to come forward with information, as an investigation into the attack shapes up.<\/p>\n

A GMP Salford spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following an incident which saw an XL bully bite a four-year-old child on footpath of the River Irwell in Kersal between 2-3pm on Saturday, July 19 2025.<\/p>\n

“Thankfully no serious injury was sustained.<\/p>\n
