Sinner defeated his fierce rival Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> to lift the title at the All-England club and claim his fourth major overall.<\/p>\n

After choosing to skip the Canadian Open, Sinner is set to return at the Cincinnati Masters and commence his North American hard court swing.<\/p>\n

This is a surface Jannik Sinner<\/a> has thrived on throughout his career and he will aim to continue that trend Stateside.<\/p>\n

Jannik Sinner seen working on his slice backhand ahead of his return at the Cincinnati Masters<\/p>\n

Sinner is set to compete at the upcoming Cincinnati Masters, before travelling to New York for the US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The world number one claimed both of those championship titles a year ago and he will aim to successfully defend them in 2025.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Sinner is working hard in training to be on top of his game when he returns. In a video posted on X, Sinner was filmed training at the Monte Carlo Country Club.<\/p>\n

The Italian was seen working on his slice backhand, before finishing a rally with a blistering forehand.<\/p>\n

This is interesting to see from Sinner, who is practicing a shot he rarely plays during his matches, which could indicate he wants to implement the slice backhand on a more regular basis.<\/p>\n

Before the Cincinnati Masters, the Masters 1000 events resume at the Canadian Open.<\/p>\n

But Sinner chose to skip the tournament, as did Alcaraz, 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic<\/a> and British number one Jack Draper<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But following a run to the Wimbledon<\/a> title and the Canadian Open commencing just 13 days later, Sinner opted to take more time to rest before heading to the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really disappointed to be missing the National Bank Open in Toronto, especially as I have such fond memories of playing in Canada,\u201d Sinner said. <\/p>\n

\u201cWinning that title in Toronto two years ago was the start of a really special moment for me, but after speaking with my team, I have to prioritise my health.<\/p>\n
