Francois Provost has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Renault Group, the French car manufacturer has announced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Provost succeeds Luca de Meo, who left the role earlier this month after his resignation was confirmed during this year\u2019s Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.<\/p>\n

Provost, who previously served as chief procurement, partnerships and public affairs officer at the Renault Group, said: \u201cIt is with pride and gratitude that I welcome my appointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would like to warmly thank my President, Jean-Dominique Senard and the Board of Directors for the trust they have placed in me.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a special thought for the teams across the Group who have supported me throughout these past 23 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will dedicate all my energy and passion to contributing \u2013 alongside our 100,000 employees, our dealers, suppliers, and partners \u2013 to the development of our Group, one of the flagships of French industry for the past 127 years.<\/p>\n

Renault\u2019s F1 team, Alpine, currently sits bottom of the Constructors\u2019 standings after a tough first half of the F1 2025 season.<\/p>\n

The Enstone-based team currently trails ninth-placed Haas by 15 points having scored just 20 so far this year.<\/p>\n

Alpine will switch to Mercedes customer engines for the new regulations in F1 2026 after the controversial decision was taken last year to repurpose Renault\u2019s historic Formula 1 engine facility in Viry-Chatillon, near Paris.<\/p>\n
