{"id":304472,"date":"2025-07-30T17:38:14","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T17:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/304472\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T17:38:14","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T17:38:14","slug":"trump-tells-dw-ukrainians-may-remain-in-us-dw-07-30-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/304472\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump tells DW Ukrainians may remain in US \u2013 DW \u2013 07\/30\/2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>07\/30\/2025July 30, 2025Trump tells DW: Ukrainians will likely be allowed to remain in US<\/p>\n<p>US President <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/donald-trump\/t-19434433\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u00a0has signaled\u00a0that Ukrainian refugees will likely be allowed to remain in the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/united-states-of-america\/t-19065189\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States<\/a> until the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/russias-war-in-ukraine\/t-60931789\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russian invasion<\/a> comes to an end.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think we will, yes, I will,&#8221; Trump told DW&#8217;s\u00a0Misha Komadovsky when asked whether\u00a0he would allow Ukrainians who fled the war to remain stateside.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a lot of people that came in from\u00a0<a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/ukraine\/t-17295382\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ukraine<\/a>, and we&#8217;re working with them,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 240,000 Ukrainian nationals have fled to the United States since the full-scale <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/russia\/t-19065060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Russian<\/a> invasion in February 2022, but their residency status has been cast into doubt as the Trump administration has cracked down on irregular migration\u00a0and asylum seekers.<\/p>\n<p>In an executive order issued on January 20, Trump instructed the US\u00a0Department of Homeland Security\u00a0to &#8220;terminate all categorical parole programs&#8221;\u00a0\u2014 which would include the &#8220;Uniting for Ukraine&#8221;
