{"id":304533,"date":"2025-07-30T18:10:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-30T18:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/304533\/"},"modified":"2025-07-30T18:10:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-30T18:10:11","slug":"the-hundred-sales-ecb-confirms-stakes-in-six-teams-sold-with-two-on-track","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/304533\/","title":{"rendered":"The Hundred sales: ECB confirms stakes in six teams sold, with two &#8216;on track&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">The sales of stakes in six of The Hundred teams have been completed, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Investments in Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets are yet to be completed but &#8220;remain on track&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Sun Group, owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) side Sunrisers Hyderabad, has paid just over \u00a3100m for a 100% stake in Northern Superchargers, who are based at Yorkshire&#8217;s home Headingley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Indian company RPSG Group, which owns Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL and Durban&#8217;s Super Giants in the SA20, has purchased 70% of Manchester Originals, while GMR Group, which owns Delhi Capitals, has bought 49% in Southern Brave. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">American-based groups Tech Titans (49%), Knighthead Capital Management (49%) and Washington Freedom (50%) have completed purchases in London Spirit, Birmingham Phoenix and Welsh Fire, respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The valuation of the eight teams was \u00a3975m, with more than \u00a3500m being generated via the sales which will now be shared by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) among its professional counties and at least \u00a350m for grassroots cricket. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Investors will take operational control from 1 October, meaning they will have no direct involvement in this year&#8217;s competition, which starts on 5 August.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The sales of stakes in six of The Hundred teams have been completed, the England and Wales Cricket&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":304534,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4101],"tags":[1406,79,16,15],"class_list":{"0":"post-304533","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-cricket","8":"tag-cricket","9":"tag-sports","10":"tag-uk","11":"tag-united-kingdom"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@uk\/114943533156326767","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/304533","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=304533"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/304533\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/304534"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=304533"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=304533"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=304533"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
