He\u2019s embracing his destiny with enthusiasm and intelligence, which were both on display at a recent royal outing. Insiders revealed that the 12-year-old was the \u201cthe star of the room\u201d at an event, which made his parents \u201cvery proud\u201d \u2014 and it\u2019s clear that he\u2019s going to one day wear the crown with honor!<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in May, Prince George and his younger siblings Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, attended the 80th anniversary of VE Day<\/a> in London with their parents Prince William<\/a> and Kate Middleton<\/a>. At the event, a D-Day veteran named Alfred Littlefield told Prince William, \u201cYou should be very proud\u201d after Prince George respectfully listened and asked lots of questions.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnother source at the event told Hello!<\/a>, \u201cGeorge was the star of the room,\u201d the insider said. \u201cHe was engrossed in conversation with many of the veterans, who were delighted to speak to him as well. He was enjoying it, hearing about guns and submarines and tanks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOther family members, including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal, were at the event too, and everyone seemed really supportive of George on this serious day. \u201cIt was a safe, familiar place,\u201d the source told the outlet. \u201cWilliam and Kate were clearly trying to give him a good experience. They both appeared protective, putting an arm around him from time to time, but they looked very proud of him by the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRoyal author Robert Hardman told the outlet, \u201cIt\u2019s all part of a slow, incremental move towards his destiny.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey\u2019ve always been very clear about pacing it, not making the children do anything that puts them off the idea of being royal in the future,\u201d Hardman continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a case of including him in things that he\u2019ll enjoy but that also touch on his life to come. George will one day be commander-in-chief of the armed forces and will almost certainly do a bit of time in one of the forces, so meeting veterans felt very appropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time Prince George has shown an interest in military life. In September, he took a first flying lesson at White Waltham Airfield in Maidenhead, England, where an onlooker told The Sun<\/a>, \u201cHe loved it. It\u2019s the right time to start.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe insider added that the Prince and Princess of Wales seemed happy as they looked on from the ground. \u201cThe Royal Family has a proud tradition of flying and it looks like George is next in line,\u201d the source said, adding, \u201cHis parents watched George take flight from the safety of the ground but he flew with an instructor and loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe\u2019s sporty and adventurous<\/a>, yet serious and smart when the need arises. And, of course, charming at all times. It\u2019s clear to see that Prince George will grow up to be an amazing king!<\/p>\n
