Dramatic footage revealed the moment a van exploded into flames on a street in Rochdale<\/a> on Wednesday afternoon (July 30).<\/p>\n Emergency services raced to the scene after the white van erupted into roaring flames off Market Street in Heywood at around 1.55pm.<\/p>\n Huge plumes of black smoke could be seen billowing from the area as the front cab of the van became engulfed by the fire.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n In the footage, shared online, an alarm can be heard sounding in the background before fire crews attended the scene to put out the blaze.<\/p>\n The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance for around 50 minutes as the fire was extinguished.<\/p>\n Join the Manchester Evening News <\/strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: \u201cAt shortly before 1.55pm on Wednesday (July 30) one fire engine from Heywood<\/a> fire station was called to a van on fire off Market Street<\/a>, Heywood.<\/p>\n “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
