Emergency services have raced to Glasgow<\/a> city centre following reports of a ‘stabbing’.<\/p>\n

Police sealed off Sauchiehall Street <\/a>at around 1.30pm this afternoon, with officers and ambulance crews descending on the scene.<\/p>\n

Eyewitnesses report the major emergency response is due to a ‘stabbing’ near the Greggs branch on the busy city centre street, Glasgow Live reports.<\/a><\/p>\n

Pictures from the scene show the police cordon<\/a> widened with access to Sauchiehall Street via Bath Street now closed and CID on the scene.<\/p>\n

An eye-witness told a reporter for Glasgow Live: “Someone had been attacked and been stabbed in the arm. Apparently it hadn\u2019t been anything to do with him but he ended up getting attacked.<\/a><\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a shame because he wasn\u2019t involved but they went for him. The ambulance <\/a>took him away. I hope he\u2019s ok.”<\/p>\n

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.23pm to attend an incident on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.<\/a><\/p>\n

“We dispatched an ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: \u201cAround 3.15pm on Wednesday, 30 July, we received a report of a disturbance on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
