BBC viewers tuned in to watch the first instalment of the brand new competitive reality show, Destination X on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

BBC viewers were all echoing the same sentiment on Wednesday night as Rob Brydon’s brand new show Destination X made its debut.<\/p>\n

The reality competition programme involves 13 contestants embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure as they traverse Europe, but things aren’t quite what they seem.<\/p>\n

They’re ushered onto the X-bus, with blacked out windows, and their task is to deduce their location in Europe by deciphering a series of clues along the journey.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of each episode, the contestants must mark an X on the map; however, the individual whose X is furthest from their actual location will be eliminated.<\/p>\n

However, as the show commenced, it appeared that not all viewers were enamoured with the opening scene, which depicted the contestants at an airport preparing to board their mystery flight, reports Wales Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One viewer remarked: “No, can’t be bothered with this. They all seem annoying.”<\/p>\n

Another posted: “Blatantly a fake airport lounge #DestinationX”.<\/p>\n

Another viewer commented: “Straight away I call shenanigans. No way British people will talk so quickly to strangers in an airport lounge. #DestinationX” Another post read: “#DestinationX is a bit s**t so far.”<\/p>\n

Despite some negative feedback, there were viewers who were instantly captivated by the new show, with one person stating: “Giving #DestinationX ago enjoying it so far.”<\/p>\n

Another viewer added: “Rob Brydon steals the show in everything he’s in. Love him #DestinationX”.<\/p>\n

During the programme, contestants were transported by helicopter whilst wearing special goggles that obscured their view from the windows.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, there were brief moments when the goggles permitted glimpses outside, offering them opportunities to spot clues about their destination.<\/p>\n

All they managed to observe were fields and rural landscapes, with some participants questioning whether they’d been deceived and flown in circles back to where they started.<\/p>\n

In an intriguing development, home viewers were also invited to participate as the programme didn’t reveal the contestants’ location, enabling audiences to make their own predictions.<\/p>\n

People had to wait until the programme’s conclusion to discover whether their guesses had been accurate.<\/p>\n

In a brutal twist, three participants were immediately eliminated from the contest before departing the airport.<\/p>\n

With limited tickets on offer, Rob challenged them to locate items bearing specific names.<\/p>\n

Those unable to find the required names were dismissed, losing their opportunity to claim \u00a3100,000.<\/p>\n

Discussing the fresh programme, presenter Rob Brydon remarked: “I’ve never done a TV show on this scale before. I loved the idea of it, the combination of having to work out clues as to where you are and having to get on with each other.<\/p>\n

“It struck me as the best bits of The Traitors with the best bits of Race Across the World.”<\/p>\n
