The British royal family drama has taken a turn for the better lately. King Charles\u2019 cancer has been deemed incurable but manageable. Kate Middleton<\/a>\u00a0is also doing better, health-wise.\u00a0King Charles<\/a>\u00a0and Prince Harry are reportedly on the road to reconciliation. And despite divorce rumors, the marriages between\u00a0Prince William and Kate Middleton<\/a>\u00a0and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle<\/a> seem to be thriving.<\/p>\n

One unexpected issue might throw a wrench into the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, however. The Duke and Duchess of Westminster have just welcomed their first baby<\/a>, a girl named Cosima Florence Grosvenor. \u201cThe Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter,\u201d read a statement obtained by\u00a0People<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What does that have to do with either of the brothers? Well, both William and Harry are close friends of the Duke of Westminster, Hugh. How close? Well, Hugh is godfather to Prince William and\u00a0Kate Middleton\u2019s eldest son, Prince George. He\u2019s also godfather to Prince Harry\u2019s eldest son, Prince Archie. Considering this, people have been speculating that either Prince William or Prince Harry could be chosen as godfather to the new baby.<\/p>\n

But Prince William makes more sense, all things considered. After all, William was an usher at the Duke\u2019s wedding last year, while Harry did not attend. And Prince William and Prince George have been spotted with both the Duke and Duchess recently, watching a football game. Reports indicate that Harry and the Duke agreed he wouldn\u2019t go to the wedding in the midst of his family feud with both King Charles and Prince William.<\/p>\n

Either way, it makes sense for one of the two to be the baby\u2019s godfather. The relationship between the families is long-standing. The Duke of Westminster is, after all, the godson of the King, and his mother is Prince William\u2019s godmother. But proximity might make Prince William the better choice and make Prince Harry miss out on the honor. He does live in California with his wife and kids.<\/p>\n

However, that might all change if reports indicating Prince Harry is considering moving to the UK prove to be true. Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles, recently told Study Dog that Harry is \u201cquite keen\u201d for his children\u2014Archie and Lilibet\u2014to experience British schooling. \u201cIt\u2019s very likely and completely possible,\u201d Harrold said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they have their younger education in America, I\u2019m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.\u201d<\/p>\n

This, of course, comes after reports that King Charles and\u00a0Prince Harry are closer to reconciling than they have been before. Their senior aides recently held a secret meeting, which was believed to be the first big step towards resolving the feud between them. \u201cThere\u2019s a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years,\u201d The Mail on Sunday reported.<\/p>\n

All of this means that, while Prince William is still the most likely option to become the godfather to the Duke of Westminster\u2019s baby, we can\u2019t truly count Prince Harry out.<\/p>\n
