Businessman Johnny Palmer, who owns the Skyline Park site at Bonville Road in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/brislington\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Brislington<\/a> said he wants to create a \u2018placemaking landmark\u2019 in the local area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Mr Palmer\u2019s first <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/gallery\/look-inside-worlds-coolest-airbnb-9831478\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Boeing 727 is currently mounted on one level of shipping containersLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Boeing 727 is currently mounted on one level of shipping containers<\/a>, but the second plane he wants to bring to Brislington will be much higher &#8211; on the equivalent of three storeys of containers. He has told council planners the plane and the structures underneath it will create a range of co-working and office spaces, with a coffee shop and public amenities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe applicant\u2019s concept for this development originates from the recognition that industrial areas typically lack a \u2018sense of place\u2019 and community,\u201d said a report to planners proposing the plane. \u201cThis presents an opportunity for <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/news\/bristol-news\/gallery\/look-inside-worlds-coolest-airbnb-9831478\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"novel and unconventional developmentsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">novel and unconventional developments<\/a> that can enhance the area in ways that may not be feasible in other locations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Since the planning application was formally submitted last week and neighbours informed of Mr Palmer\u2019s plans, early submissions have been logged 11-3 in favour of the proposal, and Mr Palmer said the installation and the development underneath will create 34 jobs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe project will create high-value opportunities in marketing, public relations and communications, providing employment for young creatives, designers and marketers,\u201d the report to planners said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThis project represents a forward-thinking, innovative development, integrating economic, social and environmental benefits,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Mr Palmer brought his first Boeing 727 to Brislington back in February 2021.
