The world of foldable and tri-foldable smartphones is heating up. While Oppo, Vivo, Honor and Samsung have released regular foldables this year like the Galaxy Z Fold7<\/a> (curr. $1,999 on Amazon)<\/a>, there is more to come for the category before the year is out.<\/p>\n

Based on current rumours, Google will be bringing the Pixel 10 Pro Fold<\/a> to market next month. Following its release, Huawei is expected to come in with its second-generation tri-fold, with the Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold<\/a> hot on its heels. Meanwhile, Apple is said to be waiting until next year before it enters with the so-called iPhone Fold, which is now rumoured<\/a> to be priced at CNY 15,999 (~$2,225) with just 256 GB of storage.<\/p>\n

While that may seem expensive, the iPhone Fold will pale in comparison to Huawei’s next tri-fold. Reportedly, the Huawei Mate XTs will retail in the region of CNY 20,000, which converts to approximately $2,780 at current exchange rates. Presumably, that price only covers the tri-fold with 256 GB of storage too.<\/p>\n

With that being said, Huawei’s foldable will span over 10-inches when fully unfolded, unlike its regular foldable alternatives. Currently, Huawei is expected to unleash the Mate XTs on September 12 in China. Thus, the company’s second-generation tri-fold could well arrive during the same week as the Apple iPhone 17 series, whose launch colours<\/a> and pricing have now been revealed<\/a> in separate leaks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
