FIRE crews have scrambled to an industrial estate in Glasgow amid an ongoing incident as a huge fire rips through a building.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services<\/a> raced to Stanley Street, which overlooks the busy M8 and M74 motorways<\/a>, this morning.<\/p>\n

The Scottish\u00a0Fire\u00a0and Rescue<\/a> Service (SFRS) raced to the area after the alarm was raised\u00a0at 6.46am.<\/p>\n

Pictures and video<\/a> from the area show huge flames tearing through the building as fire<\/a> crews arrived.<\/p>\n

A building in the industrial estate, in the Kinning Park area of the city, is currently engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

Building alarms could be heard blaring through the fire as it spread through the structure.<\/p>\n

SFRS teams have confirmed that\u00a0nine fire engines are currently at the scene working to extinguish the massive blaze.<\/p>\n

Two high-read, aerial appliances have also been deployed to the huge fire.<\/p>\n

No one is believed to have been injured as a result of the blaze.<\/p>\n

It is also currently unclear what has sparked the huge fire.<\/p>\n

SFRS teams said the alarm was raised by multiple concerned members of the public.<\/p>\n

Drivers<\/a> could see the thick black smoke from the busy nearby motorways on their way to work<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Some motorists said they could see the smoke whilst travelling over the Kingston Bridge.<\/p>\n

Stanley Street and nearby Milne Park Street have been sealed off as crews continue to deal with the fire.<\/p>\n

Everyone has been urged to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

Fire chiefs also advised locals to keep their windows and doors closed to prevent smoke inhalation.<\/p>\n

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.46am on Thursday, 31 July, to reports of a commercial building fire at Stanley Street, Glasgow.<\/p>\n

“Operations Control mobilised nine appliances and two high-reach vehicles to the scene.<\/p>\n

“Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the fire affecting a single-storey storage unit.<\/p>\n

“There are no casualties, and crews remain on the scene.<\/p>\n

“Members of the public have been advised to stay away from Stanley Street and Milne Park Street, which are closed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
