A Birmingham teen has been charged over a string of car cannibal thefts after cars were stripped of parts.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police<\/a> said that the alleged offences relate to incidents where parts including bonnets, bumpers, and headlights were stripped from cars around the city.<\/p>\n

Ali has also been charged with criminal damage, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, driving whilst not wearing a seatbelt, and going equipped.<\/p>\n

He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Tuesday, July 29.<\/p>\n

In a statement, police said: “We’ve charged a man following a series of offences across Birmingham<\/a>, where parts were stripped from cars.<\/p>\n

“We know the major impact that so-called car cannibalism can have on drivers, and our dedicated vehicle organised crime team are working tirelessly to investigate reports of it and identify those responsible.<\/p>\n

“Following a thorough investigation, Mohammed Ali, aged 18 and from Birmingham, has been charged with eight separate counts of theft from a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n

“All relating to incidents where parts including bonnets, bumpers, and headlights were stripped from cars around the city.<\/p>\n

“Ali, who appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates yesterday (29 July), has also been charged with criminal damage, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, driving whilst not wearing a seatbelt, and going equipped.<\/p>\n
