CHARITY EVENT: Comedians Jon Richardson, Russell Howard, Dinesh Nathan, and Raymond and Mr Timpkins pose with event sponsor, Arthrex UK<\/p>\nThe third\u00a0Jon\u00a0Richardson\u00a0and\u00a0Friends\u00a0Comedy\u00a0Night\u00a0in Sheffield has raised more than \u00a390,000 for Sheffield Children\u2019s Hospital Charity.<\/p>\n
The Waterloo Road star,\u00a0comedian\u00a0and Sheffield Children\u2019s Hospital Charity patron\u00a0Jon\u00a0Richardson\u00a0hosted his third annual\u00a0comedy\u00a0night\u00a0at Sheffield City Hall.<\/p>\n
The evening was sponsored by Arthrex, and raised vital funds for the patron-led campaign Bright Young Dreams. <\/p>\n
Founded by fellow patron Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill alongside Dan Walker and\u00a0Jon, the funds raised will go towards tackling the mental health crisis amongst children and young people in the UK.<\/p>\n
Jon\u00a0was joined by Russell Howard (star of Russell Howard’s Good News and The Russell Howard Hour), Louise Young (who supported Jason Manford and Alan Carr on their nationwide tours and has a weekly show on BBC Radio Newcastle), Dinesh Nathan (South Coast\u00a0Comedian\u00a0of the Year and finalist at the coveted Leicester Mercury\u00a0Comedian\u00a0Of The Year competition), Harriet Dyer (Live at the Apollo,\u00a0Comedy\u00a0Central Live and was a writer on Meet the Richardsons), Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue (a double act of more than two decades, performing all over the world), and Angela Barnes (co-host of ‘The\u00a0Jon\u00a0Richardson\u00a0Show’ on Absolute Radio).<\/p>\n
Jon\u00a0Richardson\u00a0said: \u201cFor the comedians to travel to Sheffield is very special to me, because they\u2019ve literally travelled from every corner of the country to show their support tonight. <\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a cause that\u2019s very close to my heart, and it means a lot to me that they gave their time to help raise money for the Bright Young Dreams campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe supporting children\u2019s mental health is one of the most important things we can do. If we can help them get the support they need early on, we\u2019re giving them a better chance at a brighter, healthier future.\u201d<\/p>\n
John Armstrong, CEO of Sheffield Children\u2019s Hospital Charity, added: \u201cWe\u2019re always amazed by the generosity and determination of those involved in our annual Sheffield\u00a0comedy\u00a0nights. <\/p>\n
