Wrexham are targeting a move for Sheffield United forward Kieffer Moore, and the reasons behind the Blades\u2019 desire to move on the Welshman are now clear as they find his potential successor.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wrexham<\/a> kick off their 2025\/26 Championship season in over a week, where they will face off against recently-relegated Southampton at St Mary\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Following promotion from League One, there has been clear backing for Phil Parkinson<\/a> by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac<\/a>, with the Wrexham owners backing their manager in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

The striker department, in particular, has been bolstered this summer, with Ryan Hardie and Josh Windass joining from Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday, respectively, but Wrexham will not stop in their pursuit of forwards<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wrexham are keen to sign Kieffer Moore this summer from Sheffield United<\/a>, and it has now become clear that the Blades have identified a replacement for the striker already.<\/p>\n

As reported by The Star<\/a>, Sheffield United are keen to reunite with former Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie this summer. The Scotsman previously played for the Blades before a surprise move to La Liga side Las Palmas, but now the striker is keen on a return to the Championship.<\/p>\n

It is expected that the Scotsman would be a like-for-like replacement for Kieffer Moore, who Wrexham are showing a vast interest in signing.<\/p>\n

Wrexham are keen to do business over a \u00a34m fee for Moore this summer, whilst Sheffield United\u2019s replacement in McBurnie will not cost the Blades a penny.<\/p>\n

Once Wrexham\u2019s interest in Kieffer Moore emerged, it then became clear that Sheffield United were proactively seeking his replacement, and doing so with a cost-efficient deal to sign Oli McBurnie as a free agent.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, from Phil Parkinson\u2019s point of view, the pursuit of McBurnie includes several Championship clubs, with Ipswich Town and Hull City also keen to sign the Scottish goalscorer this summer.<\/p>\n

It could be a case that, if Sheffield United do not find a suitable replacement for Moore, they may be more reluctant to let the forward go, which could place Wrexham in doubt.<\/p>\n

As a result, Wrexham should likely be aware of alternative options to pursue if they cannot get a deal over the line for Moore.
