Hampshire sign left-arm spinner Andrew Neal for the Metro Bank One Day Cup.<\/p>\n
Neal, 25, has featured 17 times for Hampshire 2nd XI this summer and has taken 26 wickets across multi-day and T20 formats. He claimed nine wickets in the Second XI T20 competition as Hampshire progressed to Finals Day at Wormsley on 16 July.<\/p>\n
In 2019, Neal played two First-Class matches, both coming for Leeds-Bradford MCCU, when he picked up four wickets with a best of 3-77.<\/p>\n
\nIt\u2019s really nice to get a chance now to play for Hampshire in the One Day Cup. I know what a brilliant club environment there is here, so I can\u2019t wait to get stuck in with the lads and see if we can continue the club\u2019s great success in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Plying his trade for Hertfordshire in the National Counties, formerly Minor Counties, Neal has claimed 64 wickets across all formats and has scored 398 runs averaging just under 40 in 13 Minor Counties Trophy (50-over) matches.<\/p>\n
He was also part of the National Counties’ Challengers squad and trained with them in the early part of the season.<\/p>\n
\nAndrew was recommended to us following a series of strong performances for Hertfordshire, and he has continued to impress at Second XI level. He is a three-dimensional cricketer who contributes primarily with the ball but also with the bat and in the field. His character and work ethic have been key to getting him to this point and I\u2019m sure he will be a valuable addition to the 50 over squad.<\/p>\n

Hampshire Men begin their One Day Cup campaign with a trip to Neath to take on Glamorgan on Tuesday 5 August before a first home match against Essex on Thursday 7 August.<\/p>\n
The side, captained by Nick Gubbins, will be looking to reach the knockout stages of the competition for the fourth time in succession and hope to bring home a first List A trophy since 2018.<\/p>\n
Tickets for Hampshire Men\u2019s One Day Cup matches start at just \u00a315 for adults when bought in advance, and \u00a35 for Under 17s, whilst Hampshire Cricket Members are granted admission in their membership package.<\/p>\n
