Payments are prematurely set to land in bank accounts owing to a Bank Holiday shake-up north of the border.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The full new <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/dwp\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">DWP<\/a> State Pension amount is \u00a3230.25 per week. However, the amount you receive can be more or less than this, depending on your National Insurance record. To get the full amount, you typically need 35 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">You&#8217;ll still receive a partial pension with at least 10 qualifying years. It works out at \u00a3921 a four-week per period. If a bank holiday is on a weekend, a substitute weekday becomes a bank holiday. This would normally be the Monday after the original date.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The bank holiday in August will be August 4. The day your state pension is paid depends on the last two digits of your National Insurance number &#8211; you can see which days correspond to which day of the week via the DWP guidance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The state pension is normally paid every four weeks: 00 to 19: Monday, 20 to 39: Tuesday, 40 to 59: Wednesday, 60 to 79: Thursday and 80 to 99: Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If your benefit payment doesn&#8217;t arrive when expected, you should contact the relevant helpline. Bear in mind these are unlikely to be open on bank holidays, so you may have to wait until the next working day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If a bank holiday is on a weekend, a \u2018substitute\u2019 weekday becomes a bank holiday, normally the following Monday. Your employer does not have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The DWP says: &#8220;Benefits are usually paid straight into your bank, building society or credit union account. If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday you\u2019ll usually be paid on the working day before. This may be different for Child Benefit.
