The pub said it’s been a ‘tough few years for hospitality’The Clifton pub in Regent Street<\/p>\n

A popular gastropub in Bristol has closed suddenly. The Clifton confirmed the closure on social media on Thursday evening citing a ‘tough few years for hospitality’ as the reason for shutting its doors for good.<\/p>\n

Announcing the closure on Instagram, The Clifton said: “It is with heavy hearts and the deepest regret that we announce the closure of The Clifton.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been a tough few years for hospitality; we\u2019ve put our heart and soul into the pub over the last few years, but it\u2019s not been an easy ride.<\/p>\n

“If you have an upcoming booking we\u2019ll be in touch, if you have a gift voucher, we\u2019ll be honouring them at our other pubs in Wales; our sister pubs, Hare & Hounds and Heathcock will be staying open as normal and will be unaffected by this. “Thankyou to our wonderful team over the last two years, and to our lovely customers who have enjoyed food and drink with us. We\u2019ll miss being in Bristol and part of this lovely village community. “Enquiries can be made to info@thecliftonbristol.com and a member of our admin\u2019 team will be in touch as soon as possible.”<\/p>\n

Last year, The Clifton was named as one of the best gastropubs<\/a> in the country by Estrella<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In December 2023, Bristol Live reported that The Clifton had been named as one of the latest additions to the Michelin guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n
